TMG provided construction phase project control services for the new 230 bed, 360,000 square foot full-service medical center. Constructed on an 80 acre site near Elon College, NC, the steel frame main building incorporates a cruciform plan with twin 4-story bed towers, a medical mall, ancillary support spaces, and detached Energy building. The fast-track, multiple bid package project was administered by a managing contractor. The project was completed in June of 1995.

This 4-year multi-phased project consists of 173,000 square feet of new space and 195,000 square feet of renovation work in the Duke Hospital South complex. Phase 1 includes a new 3-level cast-in-place concrete, stone-clad Reception Building on the north side of Duke Hospital South with an air-conditioned pedestrian bridge to the existing PG1R parking garage. A new 4-level cast-in-place infill structure on the south side of Duke Hospital South overlooks the Sarah P. Duke Gardens, as does the new 1-story steel addition atop the East Infill building. Phase 2 consists of a new 3-level cast-in-place concrete, stone-clad Connector Building and significant internal renovations in the Duke Hospital South complex. Phases 3 and 4 complete the renovations in the Duke Hospital South complex. A related project called the Engineering Systems Renewal Project adds (4) new air handlers to serve the new and renovated spaces, 32 new mechanical shafts and electrical risers in Duke Hospital South and mechanical and electrical upgrades in numerous existing mechanical rooms. TMG provided construction phase project control services and personnel relocation planning services on a departmental basis. The project began in October 1996 and was completed on schedule in the fall of 2000.

The Milestone Group (TMG) provided CPM scheduling services for the new research hospital. The building is a ten story, 250,000 square foot cast-in-place concrete structure with exterior skin of precast concrete and aluminum curtainwall. The seventh floor of the hospital is given exclusively to faculty laboratories. The project was contracted to multiple Prime Contractors. The project was completed in March of 1996. TMG provided a comprehensive cost-loaded CPM project scheduling package for the work.

The new 1800 vehicle, 590,000 square foot precast structure parking deck serves the Duke Med. Center-South campus. The project consists of three phases; 1) Renovate/reverse traffic on existing deck PG1, 2) close existing roadways and construct new deck PG1R, and 3) demolition of existing deck PG1. The deck is 7 levels tall, with 2 underground levels. The 18 month project was contracted Single Prime. TMG provided a comprehensive CPM project scheduling package. The project was completed in August of 1995.

The project, consisting of adding a steel-framed sixth floor to the existing A, B, and C wings at Wake Medical Center, added 75,000 feet of space to the hospital. A key portion of the work is the phased shut-down and extension upward of all elevators in the affected wings. Upper-floor patient rooms will be cycled (decommissioned) to allow renovation necessary to the new floor. The 18 month project was awarded single Prime. TMG administered the development and monitoring of a cost-loaded CPM project scheduling package. The project was completed in November of 1995.
